There is NO CO$T for the this Event!
The Iowa Referee Academy is FREE!

It is here! Less than 1 week to go until the Academy! Keep spreading the word!

Topics to be presented this year by our distinguished guests (current and former FIFA Referees and Assistant Referees) include:
- FIFA Hot Topics with video and analysis,
- Analysis of match incidents from the 2011 Womens World Cup,
- Offside and the Assistant Referee,
- Coach Expectations of Referees,
- Law 5: "Hey Ref, do your job!", and
- Assistant Referee Involvement.

For those of you who have not previously attended an Iowa Referee Academy, the format is for 6 topics to be presented in rotation by 3 speakers to 3 groups -- 3 topics before lunch and 3 after. Each speaker will present 2 topics. Past topics have ranged from the points-of-emphasis for the current year, information presented to the Referees and Assistant Referees at National Camp, issues encountered at the Iowa State Cup from the previous year, Assessor feedback, ... . All very important information to help you prepare for the Spring Season.

soccer.com (Eurosport) will be providing coupons for discount shopping at their website. Check them out at soccer.com. And, Official Sports International (OSI), provider of Referee uniforms and on-field / off-field apparel and gear will be there selling their merchandise. You can checkout the OSI website at Official Sports International (OSI). Manny Ortiz, winner of the 2013 NISOA Ray Bernabei Honor Award, will represent OSI.

There are 469 individuals who have registered to attend thus far. This is great, but keep talking to your friends. Set an attendance record! Make plans to carpool to Ankeny. The location of the 12th Annual Iowa Referee Academy is the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Ankeny Campus FFA Center. Checkout the top center of the Campus Map below.

As a soccer referee, you will not want to miss out on this continuing education opportunity. Your attendance will automatically satisfy the 5 hour recertification requirement set forth by US Soccer for registration in 2014. This will make registration for 2014 a whole lot simpler for you if you struggle to attend enough referee association meetings throughout the year.

See you Saturday!
