IRC High School Liaison
On behalf of the Iowa Referee Committee (IRC), I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Dunn has agreed to serve as the Committee’s High School Liaison. In this role she will be a key link between the IRC, the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA), and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU). Jennifer will be representing the interests of the IRC and Iowa high school referees to the IHSAA and IGHSAU, and providing information and input to the IRC regarding high school soccer policies, initiatives and proposals.
Jennifer is a USSF State Referee and lives in Central City, near Cedar Rapids. She has been a USSF Referee for 11 years, and also works high school and college matches each year. Jennifer is currently on the soccer advisory board for the IGHSAU, a position she will continue to hold while serving as the IRC High School Liaison. This past spring Jennifer was able to raise the bar in Iowa as she was selected as the Referee for the Class 1A Boys State Championship game - the first female in Iowa history to have the whistle for a boys championship match.
Along with her referee credentials, Jennifer brings almost 10 years of professional business experience and a history of leadership in other community organizations, including 4-H and the Linn County Fair.
Please congratulate Jennifer next time you see her, and thank her in advance for the work that she’ll be doing as part of the Iowa Referee Committee leadership team.
