Process to host a referee clinic in your area...

Please read through the following in order to set up a referee clinic in your area.

1. Required clinic request form must be received by the SDI 4 weeks prior to a requested clinic. Click here to complete the form.

2. Clinic Fees collected at the meeting
a. Host association covers any expenses above the clinic fees collected. Association will be billed if expenses are over the income. A minimum of 10 students will usually allow a break-even situation.
b. If clinic fees are collected up front by an association, the association must provide instructor with a list of names, amount of check, and check number with payment.
c. Full payment of clinic fee is required before a student may participate. This applies to associations as well as individuals.
d. Fees per student are $40.00 each with checks payable to IRC.

3. Club or Association Clinic Coordinators: The host association is required to provide clinic coordinators before, during and immediately following each clinic.

a. Pre-Clinic Coordinator
(1)Must give the SDI contact information (Name, phone # and email)
(2) Confirm dates, times, location, facilities.
• Most class are Friday and Saturday
• The classes run for 6 – 9:30 Friday and 8 to 5 on Saturday
• The more the facility is like a classroom the better
(3) Help facilitate resources, tables, chairs, electricity, etc.
b. On-site Coordinator
Acts as a representative of the host association.
(1) Must be on-site at all times.
(2) The clinic site must be set up classroom style with seating at desks or tables available for all students.
(3) Insure security of facility and equipment for the duration of the clinic.
(4) Responsible for all minors before, during and after the clinic schedule.
(5) Lock, unlock and have access to equipment, facilities, electricity, etc.
(6) Clean and restore facility as needed after the conclusion of the clinic.
c. Instructional tools needed
(1) A classroom type setting
(2) An overhead projector & screen
(3) A television & VCR
(4) A blackboard or dry erase board
(5) An LCD projector is very useful

4. Clinic Cancellation
a. The IRC/Instructors can not cancel a clinic.
b. Only the SDI or the host association can cancel a clinic.
c. If clinic is canceled less than 72 hours before clinic start time and date, the association will be assessed a $100.00 penalty.
d. If a clinic is canceled at the start of the clinic, the association will be assessed a $100.00 penalty and the fees and expenses for the instructor(s) that were present when the clinic was canceled.

5. Student Responsibilities
a. Students should bring
(1) Appropriate Fees.
(2) Paper, pen or pencil
(3) Must be age 12 or older

6. Pass/Fail: Passing grade is 75%. Students failing may retake the exam when a time can be set to have the test proctored by an IRC rep or instructor. Failing students may retake within 1 year at no additional cost.

7. Maximums and Minimums
a. Student maximum – Case by case situation.
b. There is no minimum number of students, although 10 students will usually be charged to the host to cover the expenses. Association must cover any expenses above the clinic fees collected.
