Recertification Requirements for Advanced Referees

The following are the re-certification requirements for all grade 7, 6, and 5 referees in the state of Iowa. These are similar to the National requirements with some slight changes.

If for any reason you feel that you can not meet these requirements, you must notify the IRC and the SRA, well in advance of the end of the licensing year.

Grade 7 Referees
• (5) games as a Referee in any USSF youth affiliated games.
• (3) games as an Assistant Referee in any USSF affiliated games.
• As a Referee, pass one (1) field assessment in a USSF, U-14 or higher, affiliated game. Must be assigned by the SDA
• Attend an annual mandatory re-certification clinic and pass both the USSF physical and written entry level test.
• All games used to re-certify, must be recorded on registration form.

Grade 6 Referees
• (5) games as a Referee in any USSF youth affiliated games.
• (5) games as a Referee in any USSF, U-19 or higher, affiliated games.
• As a Referee, pass one (1) field assessment in a USSF U-19 or higher, affiliated game. Must be assigned by the SDA
• Attend an annual mandatory re-certification clinic and pass both the USSF physical and written State test.
• All games used to re-certify, must be recorded on registration form.

Grade 5 Referees
• (5) games as a Referee in any USSF youth affiliated games.
• (5) games as a Referee in any USSF, U-19 or higher, affiliated games.
• (1) games must be in Division 1 or higher.
• As a Referee, pass one (1) field assessment in a USSF U-19 or higher, affiliated game. Must be assigned by the SDA
• Attend an annual mandatory re-certification clinic and pass both the USSF physical and written State test.
• All games used to re-certify, must be recorded on registration form.
